No matter the discipline, there is a space for every Unisa researcher to collaborate in contributing to the quest for high-impact, Africa-centred solutions with global relevance. The ideal opportunity to discover where and how to participate is Unisa Research and Innovation (R&I) Week 2026.

Led by the university’s colleges, R&I Week will foster strong interdisciplinary engagement across 10 strategic research domains – better known as Unisa’s 10 Catalytic Niche Areas:

• The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Digitalisation
• Automotive Studies
• Health Studies / Medicine
• Energy
• Feminist, Womanist and Bosadi Theorisations
• Natural Sciences (Biotechnological Studies)
• Space Studies, including the Square Kilometre Array
• Student Support and Co-curricular Studies

In the week of 25-29 May, expect a vibrant programme of insightful conversations, research showcases and collaborative exchange, driven by the colleges and designed to connect ideas with real-world impact.
