“I am interested in integrating technology into teaching.”
Shane Jerome Venter, currently lives in Pretoria, but is from the West Coast town of Vredenberg, in the Cape, and he believes that the laptop device he received recently from Unisa will help him achieve his dream of integrating technology into teaching.
He has been studying for a junior degree in Education (Foundation Phase) with Unisa since 2019 and has set his sights on becoming a teacher when he completes his studies.
“I am interested in implementing technology in teaching and helping other teachers to do that too,” he says.
Shane believes that the Covid-19 pandemic and the introduction of the 4IR have rapidly changed the world and it has been an eye opener for him to learn what the future has in store. He says that the new laptop will help him, as he will no longer have to share a laptop with his wife. “I have my own laptop and can get busy with my studies, without being disturbed.”
“Exams are online, which means I have to be plugged in all the time. The laptop will be of great help,” he says.
